First Timer's Guide to Seagrove
Visiting Seagrove beach for the first time? Here’s what you need to know:
Spend plenty of time soaking in the all-natural setting, whether that’s on the sugar-white sand while waves lap at your feet, exploring things to do at Eastern Lake or pedaling along the Timpoochee Trail. Biking is the preferred method of travel here, so slow down and let your senses guide your discovery. Traveling light? No need to BYO Bike! There are plenty of bike rentals in Seagrove – including Big Fish Bike Rentals, who deliver directly to where you’re staying. Looking for scooters, kayaks or golf carts? Butterfly Bike & Kayak Rentals is your one-stop shop for all that plus bikes, beach chairs and more.
Find your favorite Seagrove yoga studio for a dose of mindful movement before a day at the beach. Get grounded at local favorites like Balance Health Studio, where in addition to daily vinyasa classes, you’ll find functional medicine services like acupuncture.
For a fresh, healthy meal afterwards, head to Prema Organic Café: one of the best casual restaurants in Seagrove, where seasonal local produce is transformed into flavorful, nutrition-packed sandwiches, cold-pressed juices and refreshing salads. Just down the road, you can shop till you drop at Coast Hippie, a local boutique brimming with bohemian beach flair.
Seagrove is dotted with dozens of these unique boutiques and casual cafés, lending to the neighborhood’s upbeat ambience. Another “must” for your trip is a meal at Seagrove Village Market, a low-key, local staple that’s been a part of the Seagrove community since 1949. You’ll find delicious shrimp po boys, tasty treats and the iconic grouper sandwich, named one of the “100 Things You Must Eat Before You Die” by Garden + Gun.
A true South Walton tradition, Café Thirty-A has been hosting special occasions in an upscale atmosphere for decades. If you’re lucky enough to be in town on a Tuesday or Thursday, don’t miss Café Thirty-A martini nights, when everything from the perfect cosmopolitan to a classic dirty gin martini is just $6.
If you’re a fan of live music with a view, stop by the Old Florida Fish House overlooking Eastern Lake, where the fresh seafood and performances from local musicians always hit the spot. If you’re craving more local flavor, head down to Goatfeathers Seafood Market for fresh-caught seafood steamed right on site, or The Perfect Pig for classic Southern BBQ and the can’t-miss pulled pork sandwich. To top it off with a sweet snack, be sure to try the melt-in-your-mouth snow cones from Hokulia on 30A.
We encourage visitors to explore responsibly. As you enjoy everything Seagrove has to offer, please help us preserve the natural beauty of the area by staying on marked paths, disposing of waste properly and being mindful of local wildlife and other guests.
