Guide to Beach Parking and Transportation

Part of the charm of South Walton is the strong culture of connectivity. Visitors can leave their cars behind and set out to explore and interact on foot or by bike.

However, maintaining this pedestrian-friendly vibe requires lots of coordination – especially as visitors are arriving. Since South Walton is within driving distance of many cities in the Southeast, driving is a popular arrival method. But when visitors bring multiple cars per group, it’s especially important to coordinate and adhere to parking guidelines.

Fortunately, the county works hard to ensure that the parking situation is streamlined for everyone. So, the next time you hit the road and coast over to our sugar-white sand, please be sure to note any posted signage regarding parking. And with an increasing number of electric vehicle charging stations, it’s becoming much easier to plug in, power up, and play.

If you want to streamline the process altogether, take advantage of the Walton County Tourism Department’s complimentary tram service in Grayton Beach. You’ll find convenient parking in the “Grayton Central” lot across from the Hurricane Oyster Bar. From here, South Walton shuttle services offer free pick-up and drop-off near the west beach access, running daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. or as needed.

You can also ditch the car entirely and rent a Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs). These street-legal carts are a popular way to see the sights without the parking hassle. Just keep in mind that LSVs are required to follow all the same rules of the road as other street-legal vehicles.

• Public parking if visiting shops/restaurants – parking lot behind George’s and around the Amphitheatre in Town Center – first come, first served

SEACREST

• Limited bike parking at 3 neighborhood beach access
• Public parking if visiting shops/restaurants around The Village Lane and a few parking spots behind LaCo. – First come, first served

WATERSOUND

• Public parking if visiting The Big Chill – first come, first served

SEASIDE

• Bike racks, 30+ golf cart spaces, paid parking on Smolian Circle, complimentary 1-hour and 15-minute parking available for quick stops
• The Seaside shuttle picks up on the east side of Highway 331 south of the 331 bridge in Santa Rosa Beach next to Bay Baits (drop off under the Lyceum Archway in the center of Seaside) and runs from 6 a.m. to midnight.
