Description

Originally from Belleville, Illinois, Allison Wickey, pursued art education at Columbia College before becoming a Muralist and Faux Finish painter in the St. Louis area for seven years. Much like others in the South Walton community, Wickey fell in love with the turquoise water and sugar-white sands of the Gulf Coast, while visiting the area. This South Walton transplant has since been awarded the 2011 South Walton Artist Of The Year & 2012 Best Art Gallery on the Emerald Coast.

Using her favorite media from her faux finish days, including venetian plaster, acrylic plaster, glazes and an orbital sander, Wickey showcase's the well-preserved ecosystems native to Walton County. Tranquil scenes of coastal dune lakes, the gulf coast shoreline, and native birds grace the wooden 'frames' that is her canvas.
